Modeling is the science of duplicating excellence by copying the exact process (including the thought process of a person). According to Richard Bandler there are three components to excellence:

  1. The Belief System of a person. One might say it is the six logical levels of change.
  2. The Syntax of a thought process.
  3. The physiology of the person.

All these three together form the basis for excellence.

In eliciting the syntax of the thought process, you can use Clean Language and Eye accessing cues

Modeling is the core of NLP and NLP has developed basically through Modeling. Richard Bandler and John Grinder formulated NLP by modeling successful therapists like Milton Erickson and Virgina Sattire.
